EDIT
I changed the background :P Hozit look?

Eheh, one of these days I'll find a style of colouring that I like and I'll stick to it... one of these days.. And no, I haven't changed my drawing style, but ~lyanora's style of drawing hair has inspired me to try out her style. >> Not that I'm any good at it at the moment oO

Anyway, I started this about... 2 weeks ago I think and it's taken me a fair while to get it all done oO Mainly because, I didn't have a clean inked version to work from so I had to either 1) Print out the pencil version and hand ink it 2) Darken the lines and trace the lines on Illustrator or Flash. I thought maybe it was a bit too ambitious of me to try and hand ink it myself (look at all of that detail on the lineart @__@) so I took option #2. I first tried tracing it on Illustrator but I couldn't find settings that I liked :( Then I tried Flash and I couldn't get that one right either. The solution? I used both xD; Illustator got most of the lines looking nice but with Flash it patched up any areas that were missing from the Illustrator traced one ;P There was one accidental trace thing I did on Illustrator that I kept which had a greyed blocky thing of the image which was awesome because I ended up using that for the background :D All up, the original image was used on 5 separate layers ^^;

And now for the colouring. You all know that I have bad colour combinations right? Well if you don't, you do now D: I wasn't too sure what I was going for and I changed the colours of her robes three times before deciding on this one. And I was also very sorely tempted to grab my sister's tablet to do all the details on the hair and the clothes but I resisted temptation mainly due to the fact that I didn't want to get on her bad side even more than I already am ><

Critique on the colouring is still very much appreciated :heart: Especially if you want me to change anything ;P And if you wish to critique the actual drawing, please do so on the orignal ^__^

BTW, this isn't completely finished, which is why I've submitted a low res version. I'd like some feedback before I submit a high res version. The PSD file is 121 MB >> and with my crappy dial up I'd be waiting awhile to upload it ><

I immediately thought of this photo when I saw your colored version. What does that mean? You made an excellent color selection!

I looked at the original too. While it was a very smooth pencil drawing, you're re-inking it gave it a sketchy feel, much like Yoshitaka Amano of Final Fantasy fame. (I feel bad cause I completely forgot his name and had to look it up. Got him confused with Akira Toriyama, who did Dragon Ball...)

While I like the yellowish browns on the right, they confuse me as to what it is supposed to be. If it's just a random pattern, that could be OK. However, it looks it could be the moon. The only thing that breaks that illusion is the crackles of what appear to be energy around her left arm. So what I believe would look good is this; Keep the pattern but smooth out the line between the blue and yellow. Make it more distinct. You might try adding a crater or five to help. If that happens, I think it will look like she is sitting in the night sky with her namesake beside her.

Regardless of whether or not you do that, you're making a good amount of progress in your digital coloring. Oh, BTW, someone bit off her nose. :)

xD Thanks ^__^ That means a lot, 'specially since I'm not very good at it xD;

As to the inking thing, it's good that you picked it up. I was meant to mention that in the comments but forgot to >>

As for the background thing, I thought that it was just an interesting pattern. oO I never thought that it could be the moon.. I'll definitely try out your suggestions though :)

:lol: Figures you'd notice some sort of disfiguration xD There wasn't much of a nose drawn on the original so I'll prolly add some shadows to define her nose? That or I'll have to actually add one in :P

Ohh, and thank you for the fav too :heart: :D

i think overall you used interesting collors but if i may i think she would outstand a bit more if her robe or the backgroud would have a slightly different collor (or make one of those darker) then she would stand out more but youve putted a lot of effort into it and its awesome you even collored the smallest details :D
